ISC Constructors, L.L.C. Welcomes Tommy Virgets to their team
BATON ROUGE, LA – July 22, 2009 – ISC Constructors, L.L.C. recently announced the addition of Mr. Tommy Virgets to their family of associates.
As a Catholic High School Alumni, Mr. Virgets entered Louisiana State University in 1951. While there, he not only earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Personnel Management, but also became the university’s 1st-4 year letterman in baseball. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1956. His professional career started at Dow Chemical in the Industrial Relations Division. In 1961, he became Ameron’s International Sales Manager, residing in Holland (where he met his wife of now 41 years, Ankie) and Rome. He also managed a Business Development role in Africa and the Middle East. In 1973, he returned to the United States and started his reign as Vice President of Marketing and Maintenance for Anco Industries until 1999 when he retired. In 2002, he was hired on shortly with ISC as a consultant. In 2008, he returned to ISC as an asset to the Business Development Department, assisting with special projects and their business plan. According to Mr. Virgets, some of his many career highlights were his developing the National Insulation Symposium during the energy crisis in the late 1980’s, which convened annually for 10 years. It focused on the need for insulation in energy conservation. In addition, he assisted in the rebuild of the Hess Oil Refinery in St. Croix, VI after it was decimated in Hurricane Hugo. Consequently, that project won one of the first ever National ABC Excellence in Construction Awards.
