ISC worked in a major petroleum refinery for 15 years providing ongoing SIS and SIS related DCS development. In these implementations, ISC provided the entire EPC delivery of all site SIS upgrades and new system installations. As a part of that long standing assignment, our engineers, designers and construction leads worked closely with plant engineering, operations and maintenance personnel to install on-budget, on-schedule SIS/DCS projects. These systems meet industry and company compliance standards, but even moreover provide intelligent, operable, maintainable process protection solutions.

This particular customer operates their facility utilizing Honeywell TDC3000 (upgraded over this project span to Experion) and Triconex Tricon and Trident SIS platforms. The critical turbomachinery controls in this facility are also controlled via Triconex Tricon platforms.  ISC Engineering and Construction also engineered (with Honeywell) the DCS migration to Experion, and implemented the cutovers. As well, ISC engineered and constructed the upgrade of the Tank Farm automation and controls (DCS/SCADA).


  • Participated in the front end risk assessment of each target instrumented protective function and overall control system scheme
  • Worked with plant engineering staff to generate the instrumentation, electrical and control system engineering and construction work scopes, schedules and cost estimates (+/- 30 and +/-10) for plant funding processes
