Completed in 2015

About This Project

Evonik Industries, a German based specialty chemical company, conducts business in more than 100 countries globally and operates major chemical production plants in a quarter of those countries. Evonik’s largest North American site, based in Mobile, Alabama, announced the Power Play Project which would add a new main substation and supply new feeders to six existing unit substations.

In August of 2014, ISC was awarded a contract to complete the electrical and instrumentation portion of the project. Upon mobilizing, ISC immediately encountered a delay that limited the available work fronts, in turn, doubling the expected duration.

Despite these last minute changes, ISC mitigated any additional impacts by minimizing crew sizes and shifting resources while maintaining zero recordable injuries to complete the project on budget and within the allotted man hours.

Project Facts

  • 15,000 Man Hours
  • 9 month duration
  • ZERO OSHA recordables
  • National Project of the Year Award (Eagle Award) by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)

Thank you and your personnel for the outstanding performance on our recent Power Play project. The project was complex and required a contractor with your experience. We are all pleased that the project was a success including being completed on time, on budget and without any safety issues.
