Completed in 2012

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Shell Chemical LP is one of the leading world producers of the organic compound, ethylene oxide (EO). In 2009, Shell management decided that the existing Ethylene Oxide 2 (EO2) Unit at the Geismar, Louisiana facility was in need of upgrading. In April of 2011, the general contractor, Jacobs Field Services North America, Inc., and Shell Chemical LP selected ISC as the electrical and instrumentation contractor for the EO2 Strategic Projects in Shell’s EO2 Unit. This project consisted of the largest and most critical turnaround in the history of the plant.

The contracted scope included the turnkey installation of the electrical, instrumentation and demolition portions of the EO2 Strategic Projects. This involved the Recycle Gas Compressor Driver Replacement and the Low Water/CO2 (LOWACO2) phases.

In all cases, ISC’s associates performed the work safely, and offered the owner suggestions which created cost savings, a reduction of time required to complete the work and an improved product for the owner.
