SAFETY
April showers bring…. wind & water
Springtime is here and with it come rain showers leading up to hurricane season. Here are a few safety reminders for at home and on the job:
- Check your gutters
- Trim tree limbs and check for loose debris
- Clean/Address areas that could be slippery when wet
- Dry off your shoes and/or steps when climbing ladders
- Take care when using power tools or machinery when it’s raining or windy
COMPLIANCE
Associate Handbook Policy 2.1 Hiring Policy
Safety and well-being are top priorities. Here are some crucial points to keep in mind:
- Be Cautious with Vapes and E-Cigarettes: Avoid using vape or e-cigarette products with unknown substances. Some of these products contain dangerous substances not meant for human consumption. This is a “user beware” situation, and only you can protect yourself.
- CBD Products: Buyer Beware: While many CBD stores are reputable, some are not. Both may claim their products are safe, but there’s no legal requirement for dispensaries to be truthful in their packaging. Educational seminars for drug counselors and medical review officers highlight that dispensaries are not regulated by the US government, nor is there quality oversight at the state level. This means a CBD product could contain THC, potentially causing a positive drug test.
- Know the Policy: For detailed information, please review our entire drug and alcohol policy in the Associate Handbook, available on the Associate Portal.
