Phillips 66, located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a refinery that processes primarily heavy, high-sulfur and high-acid crude oil. At this facility are production units including crude distillation, fluid catalytic cracker, alkylation, a delayed Coker, and hydro sulfurization. The delayed Coker unit produces fuel grade petroleum coke from four Coker drums. ISC was contracted by Phillips 66 to provide electrical and instrumentation services for the replacement of these four Coker Drums, which have a useful life of 33 years. ISC was also contracted to complete the installation of a new operating system and associated electrical and instrumentation services.

ISC completed more than 61,000 man-hours on this project and overcame several challenges by working established procedures and implementing new safety processes. Executing the scope of work effectively with every contractor on the project, ISC was able to complete this unprecedented project installation safely without a recordable injury or incident, with quality, and on schedule for the customer.
