ISC Constructors’ commitment to Sustainability is vital to who we are as a company.  The practices we follow ensure that we adhere to the highest standards in working to do our part to address the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) as a reference to achieve these goals.  In accordance with this commitment and its principles of action, ISC Constructors expects each of its suppliers to work towards this same commitment.

Business Conduct and Ethics

ISC Constructors LLC Business Conduct and Ethics sets a high standard for data security, corruption, bribery, conflict of interest, and fraud.  Protecting the privacy of our customers, vendors and associates is critical to our ability to maintain their trust. ISC Constructors fully understands how the risks related to information security and privacy affect our business operations. We take precautions to safeguard sensitive information to ensure a safe and secure online environment. ISC Constructors follows laws or regulations that are in place to prevent the control or monopolization of the market by one business or trust with the intention of promoting fair market competition.

Human Resources, Human Rights, Labor Rights

ISC’s most significant asset is its associates.  ISC prides itself on an innovative and strong safety and health culture.  Working conditions, training, and opportunities for advancement are areas in which ISC works to continuously improve.  Investment in our associates is paramount for the business.

ISC is committed to the zero-tolerance policies adopted by the U.S. and other governments to combat slavery or the trafficking of persons for any purpose. ISC prohibits trafficking-related activities, and we expect our suppliers to uphold these guiding principles, as well.  ISC conducts a periodic Human Rights Impact Assessment to determine actual and potential impacts that ISC operations can have on basic Human Rights and aids the company in avoiding violation of the rights of others.

ISC Constructors is adamantly opposed to any form of modern slavery, child labor, or forced labor and will work diligently to ensure this never takes place.  No person under 18 years of age shall work for ISC Constructors.  Per the U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act, all non-exempt associates receive time and a half for any work performed in excess of 40 hours per week.

Associate identification documents (passports, drivers licenses, visas, etc.) are retained (original and/or copies) per federal and/or state regulations for a maximum of 6 years.

The ISC Constructors Stop Work/Whistleblower program encourages associates to stop and speak up if they witness any unsafe act, violation of policy or guidance, or perceived violation of policy or guidance.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

It is the established policy of ISC to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified persons and to administer all terms and conditions of employment without regard to race, religion, color, sex, sexual identity or orientation, pregnancy, age, national origin, ethnicity, disability, protected veteran status, genetic information, marital status, or any other protected classification, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. This diversity in our workforce enables us to provide valuable services to our customers. It also provides the ability to attract and develop the most capable and brightest talent in our industry.

The focus on integrity drives ISC’s commitment to equality and inclusion. It is part of our compass as we strive to build a culture that shows no partiality welcoming the differences of others. Acceptance of others establishes the trust required to achieve greatness in all aspects of life. This trust brings us closer to each other, our customers, and the communities we serve.

Labor Rights, Safety, Whistleblower, and Stop Work

This company holds in the highest regard the entitlement of every associate to a safe working environment. Our staff provides safe working conditions on every ISC Constructors LLC worksite.  The fundamental purpose of our Safety Program is to delegate safety responsibilities, conduct training, coordinate inspections, provide concise documentation for reference, and observe trends that lead to incidents.

As the owners and management of ISC Constructors LLC, we pledge to all involved in the program to provide a safe workplace.  We pledge to comply with applicable local, state and federal safety requirements, and to continuously seek ways of improving our safety program.

We at ISC encourage and applaud all associates to report any and all safety and health issues, environmental issues, labor or human rights issues, and ethics issues.

Environment and Sustainable Procurement

ISC Constructors’ vendor/supplier code of conduct policy is in place to ensure personnel are treated fairly and are provided with safe working conditions.  ISC strives to encourage our suppliers and vendors to work towards their own Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or sustainability plan.  If needed, ISC Constructors will assist our suppliers and vendors in developing and/or improving their CSR or Sustainability/Environmental plan.  This will in turn provide ISC with a known sustainable procurement base of providers.

The environment we live and work in is very important to ISC.  In the instance that ISC’s activities may have an impact on the environment, ISC will take every effort to work towards a feasible mitigation plan.  For many years ISC has been participating in Baton Rouge Green to raise awareness about the importance of trees as critical infrastructure to further that effort and counter GHG emissions.

Since 2021 ISC has been tracking its GHG emissions and looking for opportunities to limit those emissions.  In the area of energy conservation, one example has been to convert all campus lighting to LED lighting.

For 2024, ISC will further expand office drinking water provisions using bottle filling machines and move away from bottled water to further conserve water. To that end, ISC Constructors has committed to a 10% reduction of GHG emissions by 2030 and encourage our suppliers to meet or exceed that target.
